In August 2019, I joined Investment Quorum, a leading wealth management firm, and progressed from Special Projects Consultant to Technology Strategist, and now Head of Technology.
Initially, I led the company's cloud migration and hardware overhaul. As Technology Strategist, I developed a custom CRM system, integrated HR and marketing platforms, and implemented a robust cybersecurity strategy, which I maintain to this day.
As Head of Technology, I drive business digitisation under the Helix program, ensuring technological efficiency and regulatory compliance, while advising the board and supporting ongoing company development.
Fincharie, an online retailer of rare memorabilia, modernised its operations by collaborating with us. We transitioned their cumbersome system, which relied on Microsoft Access, Cubecart, and Frontpage, to more efficient platforms: a Shopify store and Notion database. This upgrade allowed for seamless inventory management and improved their workflow, significantly enhancing productivity and user experience.
Mundy Veneer revamped its online presence to enhance the user experience by integrating Notion, Shopify, and Algolia. Together we created a centralised database in Notion for efficient veneer management, connected it to Shopify for automatic updates, and implemented Algolia for advanced search functionality. This streamlined the ordering process, reduced the number of clicks needed to order a sample from 14 to 6, and improved the customer experience. The collaboration resulted in a modern, visually appealing, and user-friendly website, strengthening Mundy Veneer's position in the veneer industry.
We assisted a potter in establishing a Shopify store to sell her ceramics and other crafts, enabling her to effectively manage inventory and drive online sales. Through our support, she was able to create an attractive online presence, streamline her sales process, and reach a broader audience, ultimately boosting her business's growth and visibility.
I'm facinated by computers and their position at the intersection human intellect. Outside of my work I'm continually learning about new ways that technology is augmenting us as a species.
Prior to exploring technology, I modelled black holes and moved abstract letters around whilst playing tennis and skiing at Durham University.
In 2024, I participated in a marathon in Sierra Leone, raising money for the charity Street Child.
In my spare time I like cooking, playing sports, running and spending time with our family dogs, Ziggy and Pickle.
